Marjorie Crowder Bowser, 85, of Kingsport received the answer to her most sincere prayer on Wednesday, July 25, 2007. She is now with her Savior and also her precious husband, Roy.
Marjorie was so proud to be a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She loved her church family and especially as she would always say my good pastor, Brother Wayne Baker.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Gilbert and Parlie Crowder; one brother, James Crowder; three sisters, Lillian Bush, Ada Crowder, and Elnora Steadman; a son-in-law, Lee Townsend; and a grandson, Mark Townsend.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Townsend; a son, Butch Bowser and wife, Teresa; a daughter, Kathy Rochester and husband, Johnny; a special step-grandson of the home, Holden Bernard; a sister, Agnes Bush and husband, Alfred; a brother, Herschell Crowder and wife, Sandra; and two sisters-in-law, Emma Hale and Pauline Chase. She was proud of having six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She also has several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
The family will receive friends at Pleasant View Baptist Church Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. Friday. Pastor Wayne Baker will officiate. Music will be provided by Rev. Boyd and Sharon Holder.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
