Marjorie Moorefield McCurry

Marjorie Moorefield McCurry, 81, of the Bloomingdale Community, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at the Wexford House.

Born in Sullivan County she resided in Greene County, Baileyton area and moved to Kingsport in 1962.

She worked for 18 years at Indian Path Medical Center she then completed her career in the medical community, retiring in 2000 from Cardiovascular Associates.

She was a member of the Church Of The Brethren. Marjorie was an avid gardener and loved to sew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Julia Spangle Moorefield; husband Hugh G. McCurry; great grandson, Eli Hedrick and nephew, Terry Moody.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Crowe and husband Kenneth, Princeton, W.V. and Miriam English and husband Tommy, Kpt; two sons, Joe McCurry and wife Saundra, Wakefield, Kansas and James McCurry, Kingsport; nine grandchildren, K.R. Crowe and wife Cristal, Sean McCurry and wife Nikki, Jesse McCurry, Jennifer Hedrick and husband Kory, Brandy Nickels, Colby Smith and wife Paige, Cassie Laird and husband, Zac, Jason English and wife Christina, and Joe English and wife Wendy; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Winona Moody, Kpt and Patricia Seaver and husband Ron, Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; and special sisters-in-law, Betty, Frances and Dorothy.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6pm Saturday (July 23rd, 2016) at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A service will follow at 6pm with Rev. Ronald Wine officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm Sunday (July 24th, 2016) at Zion Cemetery in Baileyton. Pallbearers will be Sean McCurry, K.R. Crowe, Kory Hedrick, Randy Nickels, Jason English and Clint Seaver.
