Marjorie C. Steadman, born in Marion, Virginia, on December 13, 1918, to David and Malinda Cullop died Saturday, May 26, 2007, at her residence in Johnson City.
She was a longtime member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church; she had especially enjoyed music and singing in the choir. She was also active in the United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry V. Steadman, and nine brothers and sisters.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Selby, Johnson City, TN, Carolyn Watts, Johnson City, TN, and Sharon Shoemaker, Blountville, TN; five grandchildren, Melissa Selby of Colorado, Tim Selby of Blountville, Katherine Watts and husband Byung Hun Chun of Franklin, TN, Brandon Watts and wife, Amanda of Knoxville, Gina Houser and husband, Jerry, Kingsport; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Houser, Julian Chun, Ellie Chun; and one sister, Helen Bachman, Kingsport.
Mrs. Steadman?s daughters especially appreciate her dedicated and loving caregivers and Dr. Stephanie Manginelli. Exemplary service was provided by Johnson City Medical Center Hospice.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. J. Russell Taylor officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Depew?s Chapel Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Warren, Bill Bachman, Corkie Steadman, Mark Steadman, Parker J. Trent, and Eddie Williams.
