Mark Steven Mounger, Sr.

Steve Mounger, 73, of Kingsport, TN, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023. He grew up in the Orebank community and made several lifelong friends along the way. Steve attended Ketron High School before being drafted into the United States Army. He will be remembered for his humor and meticulous personality, as well as being the only man on the road that could drive. He loved NASCAR and was a collector of anything he could put his hands on. Steve was a talented musician, having played the piano and guitar. Above all, he cherished his family and his precious dog, Betzee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Erma Lee Mounger; sister, Brenda Mounger; and brothers, Woody and David Mounger.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Monetta Mounger; children, Tina Barbee and husband Brett, and Mark Mounger and wife Dee Dee; grandchildren, Halee Mounger, Addie Mounger, and Miranda Henley; half-brother, Allen Mounger and wife Vanessa of Florence, SC; nephews, Justin Mounger and Luke Lawson; several other nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Sharleen Arnold.

A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Orebank Missionary Baptist Church.
