Mark Douglas Poe

Mark Douglas Poe, 59, of Church Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Indian Path Medical Center following a brief illness.  Born in Kingsport on February 28, 1959, a son of the late Billy Earl and Geraldine Poe, he had resided in this area since 2010, moving from Gaston, SC.  He was a man of faith and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his youngest son, Nathan Morgan Poe on Oct. 22, 2015.

Mark is survived by his son, Derek F. Poe and Mark’s life partner, Melody H. Poe of Gaston, SC; brothers, William C. Poe and wife, Donna of Church Hill, and Michael A. Poe and wife, Anita of Jonesborough, TN; sisters, Teresa K. Lytle and husband, Roger of Zebulon, NC, and Lisa Ann Dunn and husband, Todd of Church Hill; nieces and nephews, Cody Poe, Tabitha Hicks, Dusty Poe and William Herrera; cousins, Melissa Overbay, Bobby Stissel, and Jerry Hensley; great-nephew, John Lucas-Poe; uncle, Cloudous Stissel of Kingsport; and his very best friend, Tim Stallings.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh.
