Mark Powell Rodefer

Mark Rodefer, 56, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on Monday, October 1, 2012. He was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America, Troop 42. Mark attended Power Point Ministries where he was a Deacon and a member of The Youth Committee. He enjoyed many activities including canoeing, hiking, scuba diving, skydiving, hunting, gardening and farming, among other things. Mark especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Clay Rodefer, and his grandparents.

Mark is survived by his wife of 33 years, Judy Conkin Rodefer of Kingsport; mother, Wanell Rodefer of Kingsport; sisters, Marsha Fleenor and husband, Michael of Greeneville, NC, and Linda Fountain and husband Geof, of Aiken, SC; several nieces and nephews; and the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 42.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 4th, from 4-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Bishop Jack Forbes and Rev. Kaye Florence officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, October 5th at 11:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Richie Leighton, Wally Ketron, Brian Pierson, Eric Price, Pete Byerley and Henry Adkins.

Honorary pallbearers are Lynn Ford, David Hamilton, Chuck Lindholm, Roy Bowen, Ray Harless, Arlen Easley and Boy Scouts of America, Troop 42.

The family would like to thank Dr. Daryl Pierce and their Amedysis Hospice team for their care and support.
