Martha Barrett

Martha Joyce Barrett, 72, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2007. Born in Hawkins County, she had resided most of her life in Kingsport. She was retired from Quebecor. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thomas Barrett; two sisters, Edith Lane and Annie Williams; and two brothers, Dee Williams and Frank Williams.
She is survived by two daughters, Tina Bowery and husband Mark, Greeneville, and Linda Barrett, Kingsport; a son, Joe Barrett, Kingsport; a grandson, Hunter Dingus; three sisters, Ruth Miller, Kingsport, Frances Hamm, Gray, and Lillian Morelock and husband Larry, Gastonia, NC; a brother, Roy Williams, Rogersville, special friend, Karen Crawford, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. Services will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Orville Dolen officiating. Burial will follow the service at Walker?s Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in the Lone Star Community. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
