Martha Jane French Carmichael, 90, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013.
She graduated in 1945 from MacMurray College, Jacksonville, IL and in 1947 from Presbyterian School of Christian Education. Martha served as Director of Christian Education in churches in Tampa, FL and Monroe, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude Wiseman and Horace Fletcher French and her son, William Wiseman Carmichael.
A memorial service will be conducted at First Presbyterian Church, Kingsport, on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Sharon Amstutz and Rev. David Cagle officiating. Friends will gather at the church following the service. Her body has been donated to medical science.
In lieu of flowers, it is her hope that gifts be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Kingsport, 100 W. Church Circle, Kingsport, TN, 37660, or to a charity of your choice.
