Martha Elizabeth Davis

Martha Elizabeth Davis, 90, born on August 28, 1921, passed away November 15, 2011, with family and friends by her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. Slick Davis; parents, William Bryan Jennings Mayo and Pearl Mayo Moore; sister, Clara Sloan; brothers, Mark V. Bud Mayo and James Moore.

Martha is survived by her son, Roy Glenn Davis and wife, Julia and daughter Judy C. Kenner and husband, Jerry Sr., all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Jerry Kenner II and wife, Rhonda, Lorie Kenner, Brooke Fleenor and husband, Joey and Amanda Hubbard and husband Johnny Scooter; great-grandchildren, Jackilyn Kenner, Adam Kenner and Walker Gentry; step-great-grandchildren, Austyn Hubbard, Rachel Fleenor, Jessica Fleenor and JJ Fleenor

The family wants to give special thanks to the 4th floor nursing staff at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital and the staff at Wexford House, also to the hospice nursing staff, in particular Susanna and Josie and special caregiver Terri Burcham. We also want to thank her special neighbors Billy and Shirley Nickels and Keith and Teresa Pendelton, along with special family friend Libby Sampson.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The funeral will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Capps officiating and special music by Rev. Phillip Sams.

Graveside services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Billy Nick Nickels, Keith Pendleton, Jerry Kenner II, Adam Kenner, Johnny Scooter Hubbard, Austyn Hubbard and Joey Fleenor. Honorary pallbearers are Walker Gentry, JJ Fleenor, Ronnie Ratliff and Robert Hodge.
