Martha Ladd Hann

Martha Ladd Hann passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.

Martha was born August 9, 1947 in Bristol, VA, the daughter of Vincent Ladd and Gladys Dorton Ladd. Martha grew up in Bristol, TN graduating from Bristol High School and Bristol Commercial College.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother and brother Larry. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Paul E. Hann and daughter Melissa Hann; sister, Susan Ladd Humphreys and husband Dr. Jerry Humphreys of Mt. Juliet, TN; brother, Steve Ladd and wife Diana from Bluff City, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Martha worked for GE for over 30 years, retiring in 2002. She was very active in her church, Northside Baptist Church, singing in the choir among other areas of service. Martha's life was defined by her love of God and for her love of her family. She was a caring and giving person with all she knew.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 pm Monday, June 15, 2009 at Northside Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC. The funeral service will follow at 6 pm officiated by Pastor Kenny Chinn. The pallbearers will be Kevin Brooks, Clyde Holley, Art Sauer, Rob Strickland, Dwight Lovette, and Jay Adams.

A graveside service will be 11 am Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park in Kingsport, TN.

A special thanks goes out to Dr. Paul Kamitsuka and Dr. Kenneth Kotz and their staff.
