Martha Gearhart Hoyle

Martha Gearhart Hoyle, 84, a lifelong resident of Kingsport, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center.  She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1957, attended Duke University and was a lifelong avid Duke Blue Devils fan.  Martha enjoyed oil painting, duplicate bridge and traveling and especially loved her cats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, V.A. “Skip” Hoyle.

Martha is survived by her sisters, Sara Lightner and husband, Sam and Carol Watson and husband John, and several beloved nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal services.
