Martha Frances Morton Wright, 79, of Kingsport, passed away, Friday January 2, 2009 after a brief illness in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Known to family and friends as "Frances", she was born on November 4, 1929 to Rachel G. and Rezin Hubert Morton of Steubenville, Ohio.
On September 26, 1947, Frances married Thomas Matthew Wright of Mingo Junction, Ohio. The Wrights moved to Kingsport, Tennessee in the 1980's and pursued their love of books and antiques while operating a small bookshop.
For the past 5 years Mrs. Wright had made her home in Raleigh, North Carolina with her youngest daughter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband and an infant daughter. Mrs. Wright is survived by four daughters: Susan Wright of Amsterdam, Ohio, Kay Swatkowski of Antioch, Illinois, Lisa Ensell of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Erin Wright of Raleigh, North Carolina; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather to say goodbye to their mother, grandmother and friend at 1:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2009, at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, Tennessee where Mrs. Wright will be buried alongside her husband.
