Marvin Henry Budd

Marvin H. Budd, 81, 765 Chestnut Ridge Road, Afton, died Sunday afternoon, May 17, 2009, at his home. He was a Director of Christian Education in the United Methodist Church and served churches in Kingsport, Nashville, and Memphis. Marvin remained a member of the United Methodist Church but was an active participant of the Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church for a number of years. He was greatly involved in the Little Theatre of Greeneville as well.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Tempe Claxton Budd.

He is survived by a sister, Barbara Bonner and husband Dave of Shawnee, OK; one sister-in-law, Sheridan Budd of Conroe, TX; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Emily and Joe O Dell of Greeneville.

Services will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Pastor James W. Lively and Dr. Roy Blakeburn officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church.

Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Shirley Lynn officiating.
