Marvin Turnmire

Marvin Turnmire, 77, of Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 14, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He began racing early in life and carried that passion on with his two sons and grandson. He spent over 40 years looking at the world through a windshield with a passion for trucking that is unsurpassed. His lifelong hobbies were hotrods, motorcycles and spending time in the shop. Marvin loved watching his granddaughter, Rylee “Jeter” play softball. 

 Marvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Turnmire; granddaughter, Charity Price; parents, John and Alma Turnmire; sister, Carolyn Hite; brother-in-law, Keven Hite.

 He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Turnmire; children, Melissa Rush (Mike), Freddie Provan (Shannon), Rhonda Turnmire, Jason Turnmire (Sandy), Marvin Turnmire, Jr. “Bubba” (Miranda), Brandy Thompson (Buck); brother, Jerry Turnmire (Peggy); grandchildren, Walker Provan, Stephanie Light (Jeremy), Kasey Guy (Hunter), Aron Singleton, Kayla Moore (Jordan), Kansas Turnmire, Baylee Price, Colt Turnmire, Joshua Price, Tyson Thompson, Korie Thompson, Colton Thompson, Rylee Thompson; great-grandchildren, Journey, June Moore, Lorelai Valdez; special friends, Wayne Nichols “honorary brother” (Susan), Joshua Price, Sr., Larry Singleton; and several nieces and nephews.

 The family will receive friends, Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Cherry Hill FWB Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Hubbard and Rev. Richard Tittle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Freddie, Jason, Bubba, Buck, Aron and Tyson. Honorary pallbearers will be Colt, Jay and Colton.
