An angel came to escort Mary Frances Burchfield to her home in Heaven on Thursday, January 12, 2012. She is a native of Talbott, Tennessee, attended East Tennessee State University, and was employed in Morristown, Tennessee, before devoting her life to her family. Mary Frances was a member of Oak Glen Baptist Church in Fall Branch and had been an active member of the Sullivan County Home Demonstration Club. She was very talented and loved all kinds of crafts. She owned a craft shop called The Rabbit Patch in Colonial Heights. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her precious son, Scott Burchfield; parents, Cecil and Ina Baskette of Talbott, TN; brother-in-law, Bill Burchfield; and mother-in-law, Mabelle Burchfield.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of almost 56 years, Roger Burchfield of Fall Branch, daughter, Debbie Begley and husband, Jimmy, granddaughter, Tasha Ratliff, grandsons, Jimmy and Scott Begley, daughter, Gina Burchfield and granddaughters, Rachel and Ciara Thacker of Fall Branch, 8 great-grandchildren, brother, C.R. Baskette and family of Oregon, sister, Barbara Williams and family of Prince George, VA, sister, Susie Mullins and family of Suwanee, GA, sister, Donna Shoun and family of Talbott, TN; special niece, Melissa Allen and family of Morristown, TN; and a host of special friends, Sandy, Mattie, Carolyn, Fredna, Margaret, Mollie, Bonnie and Arcelle.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all that have helped over the last few years for their special care to our mother. Thank you to Brookhaven Manor for the special care for the past 6 months.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Harold Morelock officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
