Mary *Granny" Ruth Busick

Mary "Granny" Ruth Busick, 85, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Sunday, October 26, 2014, at her home. A native of Kingsport, she was the daughter of the late James and Mattie Bright Overbay. She was of the Holiness faith. She was a loving mother, granny and loved spending time with her family and to dance.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, four grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.

Granny is survived by four sons, Robert Busick and wife, Barbara, Clyde Busick and former wife, Maddline, Ronnie Busick and girlfriend, Kathy Kilgore, and Tommy Busick; two daughters, Patsy Gibson and husband, Gary, and Ruby Snodgrass and husband, Robert; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; and special caregiver, Alex Busick.

A special thank you to Cathy and Amedysis Hospice for the care they gave to "Granny."

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12-2:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Burial will follow in Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Hammonds officiating.

Pallbearers will be Albert Busick, Alex Busick, Johnny Salyer, Dakota Salyer, Anthony Sexton, Issac Whitaker and Robert Matheny. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Busick, Rick Busick, Terry Busick, Tyler Whitaker, Anthony Busick and Travis Busick.
