Mary Carolyn Hite

Mary Carolyn Hite, 71, Limestone, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Life Care Center of Gray. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a member of Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and her church. Carolyn had taught the children's Sunday School class and was song leader. She had retired from Johnson City Press after 32 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Anderson, and her father, Rev. John Turnmire.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 25 years, Kevan Hite; mother, Alma Turnmire; two brothers, Marvin Turnmire and wife, Betty, and Jerry Turnmire and wife, Peggy; sister-in-law, Vendetta Hite; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A special thanks to her caregivers, Lisa Broadwater and Connie Edwards, and also a special thanks to the Station One Staff at Life Care Center of Gray.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist church with Rev. Steve Wilson and Rev. Kenny Whaley officiating.

Burial will follow at Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Turnmire, Marvin Turnmire, Jr., Matt Turnmire, Eric Turnmire, Brian Turnmire and Mickey Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony and Mary Archer, John and Barbara Brown, Sammy and Arlene Eastep, and Eddie and Emily Jones.
