Mary Lucille Christian

Mary Lucille Christian, 89, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Lucille was the daughter of the late Deward and Chelsea Rupe. She loved and was dearly loved by her church family at Kendricks Creek UMC and St. Matthew UMC. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her sister, Mabel Collins; and her brothers, Junior and George Rupe.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Bob Christian and wife, Jenny, and Mike Christian and wife, Tammy; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Christian, Jeremy Christian, Brittani Haynes and husband, Matt, and Braeden Christian; and 2 great-grandchildren, Eli and Olivia Haynes.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Steve Hopkins and Rev. Susan Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in East Tennessee Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Smoky Mountain Health & Hospice and to Mrs. Wiletta from Visiting Angels for their care and support.
