Mary Rose Cloud

Mary Rose Cloud, 86, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born in Appalachia, VA and had resided in Kingsport most of her life. She grew up in Jonesville, VA and attended Radford College. Mary was a member of Clouds Bend UMC and retired from Toohey and Jordan Insurance. She enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack P. Cloud; parents, White D. and Mary K. Minton; sisters, Peggy Kirk and Bobbie Collins.

Mary is survived by two daughters, Susie Clifton and fiancé, Mike Starr of Kingsport and Jackie Cloud of Teleford; two sons, Mike Cloud of Kingsport and Tim Cloud of Cape Coral, FL; five grandchildren, Dustin Cloud, Jasmine Cloud, Tiffany Smith and husband, Chad, Landon Cloud and wife, Leanne, and Dakota Clifton; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Caleb Smith, Madison Cloud, Shane Cloud and Eli Chapedaline; sister, Jean Gruber and husband, George of Church Hill; brother, David Minton of Baltimore, MD; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm with Pastor Charles Kilbourne officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Landon Cloud, Mike Starr, Bobby Kirk, Bruce Gruber, Dustin Cloud and Alan Cornelison. Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Clifton, George Cloud, Chad Smith and Larry Cloud.
