Mary Catherine B. Cunningham, 73, of Blountville, went to be with the Lord at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Holston Manor following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Argie and Bettie Mae Baker. Mary retired from the Sullivan County School System and had been employed by Arby's in Blountville for the past 18 years.
Mary was a member of Gunnings Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin T. Cunningham 2007; daughter, Nina Jean Cunningham; son, Erwin Lynn Cunningham; and brother, Ray Baker.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ruth Cunningham and Teresa Rutherford, both of Blountville; daughter-in-law, Janice L. Cunningham of Bluff City; one grandson, Dakota Rutherford; a special girl, Chelsey Doss; one sister, Edith Doane of Blountville; one brother, Roy B. Baker and wife Monnie of Blountville; sister-in-law, Patsy Baker of Blountville; special aunt, Eva June Bethany of Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gunnings Baptist Church. Services will follow at 8 p.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Bob Ferguson officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Haven Booher, Fred Walters, Danny Owens, Gary Winegar, Tim Cole, and Tim Pullon.
