Mary Evelyn Kirk Duncan

Mary Evelyn Kirk Duncan, 90, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Wexford House.

Born in Middlesboro, KY March 21, 1918, she lived in East Stone Gap, VA, Big Stone Gap, VA and Kingsport. She was a tailor for 71 years in Big Stone Gap and Kingsport.

Mrs. Duncan was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church, Kingsport, TN.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Guy J. Duncan; parents Katherine and Charles Kirk; sister, Rosamond Thompson; grandson Sterling D. Tilley, Jr.

She is survived by: her four daughters Kathryn J. Tilley and husband Sterling of Kingsport; Judy Moore and husband Larry of Kingsport; Vicki K. D'Allen and husband Christopher of Atlanta; and Rosamond Duncan of Atlanta; son, Richard E. Duncan and wife Karen, Abingdon, VA; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at Mtn. View United Methodist Church with Rev. John Hackney officiating. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Burial will take place Saturday, February 14th at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, VA
