Mary Ruth Eastep, 85, Limestone, went peacefully to be with Jesus Saturday December 20, 2008.
Mary Ruth was the daughter of Paul Doc and Ethel Conkin born on September 5, 1923 in Limestone, TN. She was a loving mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord and went to church as long as her health permitted.
Mary Ruth was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. She will surely be missed by all who knew her, but she is at peace.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Eastep in 1995; sisters, Parlee Murray, Betty Hicks, and Pauline Shaw; and brothers, Bobby Conkin and Billy Conkin.
Surviving are her daughter, Janice Keys and husband, Ray, Limestone; son, Randy Eastep and wife, Carrie, Limestone; six grandchildren, Tonia Murray, Misty Turnmire, Miranda Eastep, Chloe Eastep, Ellie Rain Eastep, and special grandson, Josey Eastep, all of Limestone; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cassidy, Carly, Mollie, and Christian; sisters, Sula Kite, Fall Branch and Gay Coulston, Rock Island, IL; brother-in-law, Bill Murray; sisters-in-law, Gladys Shipley, Eunice Jones, and Jean Conkin; special niece, Joanna Cochran; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Tittle officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cherry Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Casey Cox, Brent Cox, Max Shaw, Terry Shaw, Doug Shaw, and Mark Conkin. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Shaw.
