Mary Elizabeth Fields

Mary Elizabeth Fields, 77, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Pastor Jim Fields of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church and Co-founder of Cedar View Christian School in Kingsport, TN.
Mrs. Fields was a 1960 graduate of Lynn View High School. She continued her education at Bob Jones Bible Institute where she received the top academic award upon her graduation in 1969. She later attended Tabernacle Bible College and also received her B.S. degree in Religious Education from Breckbill Bible College.
She established the kindergarten program at Cedar View Christian School where she taught numerous children how to read. She later taught elementary and middle school as well as high school. She was also invited to become an adjunct college professor. She was an accomplished actress and directed many dramatic productions.
Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by her parents Estil and Monnie Rogers. She is survived by two daughters: Kimberla Stewart of Erwin, TN, and Katina Ferguson of South Brunswick, NJ; one granddaughter, Nichole Bates; and three grandsons, Dylan Bates, Joshua Ferguson, and Nicklaus Ferguson.
The family will be receiving on Tuesday, October 23, from 5-8pm at Cedar View Independent Methodist Church. Funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, the 24th, at 2:00pm. Burial service to follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
