Mary Roberts Feagins, 97, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2013.
She was born December 23, 1915 in Sullivan County and a lifelong area resident. Mary was a charter member of Evangel Family Worship Center.
Mary loved to cook and was especially known for her chicken and dumplings and red velvet cake. She loved flowers and working in her garden, but most of all, she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Feagins; son, Lowell Feagins; parents, Rev. Jesse D. and Nannie Roberts; nephew, J. D. Hagy; and nieces, Rebecca House and Patricia Sells.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Debra Feagins of Kingsport; three sisters, Nealy Hagy of Kingsport, Libby Webb of North Port, FL, and Jesse Dezarn and husband Bobby of Kingsport; brother, John "Bob" Roberts and wife, Mildred of Kingsport; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Evangel Family Worship Center at 1928 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor James Hagy and Pastor David Townsend officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Mount Carmel. Those planning to attend are ask to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.
Great-nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to give thanks to the Indian Path Medical Center 5th floor nursing staff and a special thanks to everyone who offered thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
