ANN "RUNT" REESE

Mary Ann "Runt" Reese Harkleroad of Kingsport passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at her home after an extended illness.

Mary Ann was the youngest child born December 24, 1931, in Dandridge, TN to the late Luther David and Emma Mae Lewis Reese. She spent most of her life in Kingsport and previously worked for Slip-Not Belting Corp. Mary Ann was a member of Depew's Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Bruner Punk Reese and E. B. Eck Reese; two sisters, Ellaree Susie Greer and Nina Ruth Rutledge.

Surviving is her husband of 52 years Henry Harkleroad of the home, sister Wilma Dean Reese Byington, Kingsport, sister-in-law Jean Mauk and her husband Calvin, Surgoinsville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 15th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Nathan Ware and Rev. Paul Lane officiating. Music will be provided by Gary Rice.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, September 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Kingsport. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Depew's Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Bettie Wallen, 2950 Reservoir Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.

The family would like to thank all those who encouraged, comforted and prayed for Mary Ann during her illness. A special thanks to the caregivers: Caroline Easley, Lois Martinez, Cathy Blankenbeckler and Donna Murphy and the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care for their special care and thoughtfulness.
