Mary Helen Baldwin Swanay

Mary Helen Baldwin Swanay, 82, daughter of the late Edward and Beulah Baldwin, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Elmcroft of Kingsport. Mary Helen was born in War, WV and graduated from Holston High School, Blountville, in 1953. Mary Helen was a member of Fordtown Baptist Church, and attended Colonial Heights Methodist Church before residing at Elmcroft. She worked/retired from Kingsport Press/Arcata Graphics/Quebecor, volunteered several summers in the Kingsport Fun Fest Store, and played Bunco and Bingo for many years. She was a loving mother, "Mamaw", sister, and friend to all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayborne (Clabe) Swanay in 2016; sisters, LaRue Pannell, Dina Lee Satterfield, and Philmenia Todd; and niece, Tamara Todd.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Debbie) Oliver; grandson, Matthew (Matt) Oliver and wife Rebecca (Becca) Oliver of Mt. Carmel; great grandsons, Tanner Mason Oliver, Aiden James Oliver, and Micah Clay Oliver, due in May; sister, Sharon Johnson and husband, D J, of Gatlinburg; special sister-in-law, Frances Swanay Statzer; nephews; cousins; and many wonderful friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 28, 2018, from 3 to 5 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

A private burial will be at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN, with her husband.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Elmcroft of Kingsport and Amedysis Hospice for their love, care, and support of Mom the last few years of declining health.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Tri-Cities, 301 Louis Street, #304, Kingsport, TN 37660.
