Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Jarrard

Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Jarrard, 39, of Maryville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at her home.

Born in Gainesville, GA, she grew up in Kingsport and was a graduate of Sullivan North High School and Maryville College. Kathy received a Masters Degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix and was studying to become a CPA. She was a Financial Analyst at Marriott International. Kathy acted in and directed plays both in college and at the Community Theatre in Sevierville. She loved to read, write poetry, and traveling, especially to the beach.

Kathy was a special person who touched the lives of many. She had a love for life and a love for people and always saw the good in people.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Jarrard; maternal grandparents, Dale and Mary Nell Hybarger; and paternal grandfather Emmett Jarrard.

Surviving are her mother, Evelyn Jarrard of Kingsport; maternal grandmother, Kathryn Waugh of Kingsport; special godson, Brody McCampbell; special friends, Bryan and Stacey McCampbell and Rhonda Sullivan; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Morgan officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Bryan McCampbell, Matt Waycaster, Sam Waycaster, Jason Seal, Darrick Christian, and Jason Ezell.

A memorial service will also be held at a later date in Maryville.
