Mary E. Crawford Light, 87, of Kingsport, went to her Heavenly home Friday, December 7, 2012 after a brief illness.
Mary attended Gospel Mission Church where she loved to sing. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Mary was a very special mother who loved having her children around, especially at Sunday dinners and holidays.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Light; daughter, Reta Smith; son, J. D. Light; parents, James Wesley and Callie Crawford; four brothers, June, John, Herbert and Carl; two sisters, Edith Crawford and Louise Simpson.
Mary is survived by Phyllis and Don Hubbard, Gary and Debbie Light, Richard and Pat Light, Sandra and Lynn Fields, Aileen and Kerry Trivette, Freda and Will McClure, Anthony and Connie Light and son-in-law, Alvin Smith, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Jeff and Teresa Hubbard, Chris Hubbard, Cynthia and Joshua Eaton, Nathan and Charolette Light, Crystal Light, Brian Overbay, Chad and Denni Light, Kevin and Shannon Light, Christopher, Jason, and Jamie Fields, David and Tonia Conkin, Jonathan, Benjamin, and Stephen Smith, Bridget and Brian Watts, Emily and Jacob Eaton, Cody, Austin, and Evan Light; great-grandkids, Brenton, Karrie, and Allison Hubbard, Olivia Eaton, Michael, Marlena, and Kelly, MaKayla Light, Nevada and Savannah Goodwin, Macon and Lorelai Light, Michael Fields, Mollie and Katie Conkin, Hayden Smith, Connor Watts, and Suri Hicks; great-great-grandkids, Traeha, Amellia, Hailey, and Riley; brother, Hubert Earl Crawford and wife Zella of Kingsport; sister-in-law, Callie Crawford of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Services will be held at 8 p.m. with Pastor Louie Meade, Rev. Shelton Meade, and Bro. Dan Dolen officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Morrison Cemetery in Hawkins County.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center 5th Floor ICU Stepdown and a special thanks to nurse Brittany and family doctor W. Michael Smith.
