Mary Singleton Murphy of Kingsport passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, November 4, 2008, at Indian Path Medical Center.
She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, where she lived until 1962 when she moved to Kingsport. Mary was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and served as secretary/bookkeeper for the church until her retirement.
Her husband, Eddie Murphy, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Werle and husband Paul of Louisville, Kentucky, Patty Myers and husband Danny of Haughton, Louisiana; two sons, Michael Murphy and wife Robyn of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Kim P. Murphy of Kingsport; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. Friday at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Burton officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, KY with Father Don Springman officiating.
