Mary Ellen McBride White, 87, of Kingsport, passed away at The Blake in Gulf Breeze, FL, after an extended illness.
Born in Tazewell County, VA, she had resided in Kingsport most of her life. Mary Ellen was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women, Epworth Sunday School Class, and Erma Slaughter Circle.
Mrs. White had moved to Pelham, AL in 2004 to be near her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen White; daughter, Karen White Hickman; parents, Edison & Harriett McBride; and four brothers, Raymond, Harry, and twin brothers, Marvin and Melvin McBride.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Gregory Hickman, Gulf Breeze, FL; three grandchildren, Drew Hickman, Hunter Hickman and Katelyn Hickman; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Rev. Gordon McBride officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Marvin McBride, Steve McBride, Greg McBride, Jerry Greene, Drew Hickman and Hunter Hickman. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Epworth Sunday School Class and the Erma Slaughter Circle.
