Mary Willard Cobb Hunter passed away November 30, 2015 at Gray Life Care, when Jesus took her hand. She had lived a rich, full life of 98 years. Mary was born June 30, 1917, in Cobb Hill, Windsor, N.C. in the Tidewater area.
Mrs. Hunter was a member of Cavalry Baptist Church. She was always dedicated to her church and church work and taught anywhere children were involved. She will be remembered as a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. Most importantly, she will be remembered for her Christian Faith and love of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband or 57 years, John R. Hunter, her parents, Alethia White Cobb and William Robert Cobb, as well as her five sisters and three brothers.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary and Dr. Ned Moore of Kingsport, TN and Martha (Binkie) and Rev. Jim Crowder of Hanover, PA; four grandsons, Aaron Moore, Craig Moore, Nolan Crowder, and Ethan Crowder; and one granddaughter, Holley Crowder.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jim Crowder and Pastor Donnie C. Brannen officiating.
The graveside service will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 pm at East Tennessee Cemetery.
