MaryRose Stapleton

MaryRose Stapleton, 89, of 1504 Redwood Drive, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, a Christian, and a lifelong member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Stapleton; son, Jeffrey Stapleton; mother and father, Edna and Cecil Cooper; brother, Bill Cooper; sisters, Jeanette Cooper, Betty Cooper, and Ida Jo Livesay.

MaryRose is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Jan Stapleton, and David and Anita Stapleton, all of Kingsport; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Johnny Gordon, Kingsport; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil (Junior) and Patsy Cooper, Kingsport; four grandchildren, Brandon Stapleton, Jonathan Gordon, Courtney Carroll, and Brittany Yates; five great-grandchildren, Kyrin Maxwell, Blaklee Carroll, Keeton Carroll, Jaycie Yates, and Cooper Stapleton; sisters-in-law, Ruby Sloan of Virginia, and Barbara Barrette and husband Coy of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Friday, November 24, 2017. The funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brandon Stapleton, Jonathan Gordon; great-grandson, Kyrin Maxwell; nephew, Jerry Stapleton, J.C. Martin; and son-in-law, Johnny Gordan.
