Matthew D. Cavin

Matthew D. Cavin, 46, of Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly at his resident on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. Born in Kingsport on June 13, 1973, a son of the late Marlene Cavin and Russell Cavin of Kingsport, he had resided in this area his entire life.  Matthew worked for Goodwill Industries in Wise, VA as a store manager, also working at Burlington for 15 years as a receiving manager.  He will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene Cavin.

Matthew is survived by his father, Russell Cavin and wife, Barbara of Greeneville; sister, Sandi Grills and husband, Tony of Kingsport; brother, Johnny Cavin of Kingsport; nephews, Ryan Kupiec, Caleb Grills, Riley Grills, Cory Cavin, Brent Cavin and Kaiden Cavin; several great-nephews and cousins; and special friend, Vickie Usman of Summerville, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 pm on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.  Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
