Matthew Wayne Dolen

Matthew Dolen, 35 of Kingsport, went to be with the angels on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Matt was born April 12, 1988 to Gary Dolen and Elizabeth “Libby” Gillenwater Dolen. His early life was in Kingsport and later in North Carolina, then returning to Kingsport. Matt was a kind, loving person and was witty at times. He was an avid video gamer.

Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herbert Dolen; maternal grandparents, Jim and Bessie Gillenwater.

Survivors include his father, Gary Dolen; mother, Elizabeth “Libby” Gillenwater; paternal grandmother, Shirley Dolen; uncle, Jimmie Gillenwater, Jr.; and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Petworks, 3101 E. Stone Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660 or Recovery NC, 741 5^th St. SW, Hickory, NC 28602-3230 in memory of Matthew Dolen.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
