Mattie Jane Mitchell

Mattie Jane Mitchell, 90, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.  Jane was born November 6, 1928 in Hawkins County, TN to Mack F. Mitchell and Mallie Ragle Mitchell. She lived most of her life in Kingsport.  Jane was a member of Fort Robinson Baptist Church, where she had many friends and loved her Sunday school class.  She was employed by T.E.C. for 36 years and 11 months, retiring February 1, 1984.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.

Jane is survived by her brother, Melvin and wife, Jo Ann Mitchell of Kingsport, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 9:30 am on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Damon Depew officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Church Hill Health Care and Rehab for the special loving care given to Jane making her happy and content while she was there.  Also a special thanks to the staff of Ballad Health and Ballad Hospice, and special friends, Marcella, Myra, Patsy, Judy, Mildred and Connie.
