Mattie Grubbs Watts, 85, of Chuckey, TN, formerly of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, October 30, 2010, at her daughter's home.
Mattie had worked for two years as a nurse's aid and worked at the Round Table Restaurant in Greeneville. She attended the Holiness Church.
She was the daughter of the late Jack and Ola Mae Good Grubbs and was also preceded in death by her husband, Jess Willard Watts 1988; two sisters, Louise Bishop and Mildred Grubbs; and one grandson, Bobby Wayne Watts.
Survivors include her daughter, Scarlet Watts of Chuckey; son, Robert Willard Watts of Limestone; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eva Caylor of Davenport, Iowa, Lena Mae Brown of Davenport, Iowa, and Patsy Mowell of Lakeland Florida; five brothers, Jack Grubbs Jr. of Pascagoula, MS, Don Grubbs, Melvin Grubbs, Doyle Grubbs and Darrell Grubbs all of Davenport, Iowa; 11 nieces; ten nephews; and a special niece, Barbara Jean Baxter.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00pm.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, Tennessee. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45am.
