Maude Kilgore Pierce
Maude Kilgore Pierce, 87, Kingsport, died Tuesday evening after a brief illness at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and completed her nurse's training at Presbyterian Hospital, affiliated with Queen's College Charlotte, N.C.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse with Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center for 36 years and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Maude was preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline Kilgore and Evelyn Stevens.
She is survived by her son, John N. Pierce, of Kingsport; daughter, Kay Pierce Cassell and husband Ed, of Jonesborough; five grandchildren, Lori Smith and husband Bob, of Springfield, TN, Amy Ferguson and husband Scotty of Fall Branch, Jake Cassell and wife Brittany of Fall Branch, Will Cassell of Kingsport, Seth Cassell of Jonesborough; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Greg DePriest officiating. Entombment services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Jake Cassell, Will Cassell, Seth Cassell, Scotty Ferguson, Bob Smith and Joe Martino.
