Maude Marie Wheatley, 90, went home to be with the Lord on April 25th, 2012 at her home, with her family by her side. She had Alzheimer's and failing health problems.

Maude was born November 20, 1921 to James Worley and Lilly May Stewart of Fort Blackmore, Virginia. She loved to garden and can food for her family. Maude and Lawrence owned the Lynn Garden Restaurant for over 50 years. They delighted in preparing wonderful meals for their friends and family. She was a member of United Memorial Methodist Church.

Mrs. Wheatley was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Clayton Wheatley; her parents, James Worley Stewart and Lilly Mae Stewart; sisters, Sally Renfro and Thelma Strong; infant sister, Dora Stewart; brothers, Jack, Fred, Henry, Stewart and infant, Claude Stewart

She is survived by one daughter, Sharyl Gott and husband, Gerald; one son, Rev. Roger Lee Wheatley and wife, Traci, all of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Jerry Gott, Steven Gott, Roger Lee Wheatley, Jr. and Cheronna Matney; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Gott, Madison Gott, Clayton Gott, Ryan Erwin, Taylor Wheatley, Ethan Wheatley and Kristen Matney; one great-great-grandson, Brison Free; special niece, Shirley Brickey of Ft. Blackmore, VA and nephew, Jimmy Renfro of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 27th, 2012 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. David Powers officiating and Rev. Roger Wheatley providing the eulogy.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, April 28th at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jerry Gott, Steven Gott, Lee Wheatley, Jacob Matney, Bob Hammonds and Ronnie Hammonds. Honorary pallbearers will be John Brickey, Jim Renfro, Gerald Gott, Keith Renfro, and John Brickey, Jr.

A special thanks to Lynn and Bob Hammonds and Shirley Phillips for their care for both Mom and Dad. Thank you also to Mountain States Hospice for their caring touch of love for Mom and the family. God bless and keep them.
