Maxie Kilgore Lane, 91, of Kingsport, went to her Heavenly home to join her beloved husband, Joe and to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday morning November 5, 2011. Born in Eidson, TN, she had resided in Kingsport most of her life.
She had worked at Nettie Lee Boy & Girl Shop in the shoe dept. for many years. Maxie was a member of Fort Robinson Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher and devoted choir member. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Two of her special gifts were cooking and quilting which she unselfishly shared with others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe H. Lane; parents, Robert and Pearl Kilgore; brother, Roddie Kilgore; and sister, Sally B. Cloud.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Wampler and husband Larry, Knoxville; son, Allan Lane and wife Karin, Irmo, SC; 3 grandchildren, Sean Robinson, Chad Robinson and Heather Stalvey; 4 great-grandchildren, Ashley Robinson, Amanda Robinson, Zoe Stalvey and Ella Claire Stalvey; 1 great-great grandson, Wesley Bunch; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
