Maxine McDavid

Sarah Maxine Ballard McDavid, 91, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Maxine was a homemaker and loved working in her church. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kingsport.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Girlie D. McDavid; her parents, James L., Sr. and Edith Ballard; brother, James L. Ballard, Jr.; half brother, Clarence L. Jones.

She is survived by sons, Edward D. McDavid and wife Linda of Kingsport, James M. McDavid and wife Jackie of Kingsport; one sister, Dorothy M. Wright of Kingsport; grandsons, Jonathan E. McDavid of Hinesville, GA and Timothy M. McDavid of Douglasville, GA; one granddaughter, Kimberly D. McDavid of Kingsport; great-grandson, Jeremiah R. Wolfe; great-granddaughter, Amaya R. Wolfe; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. with Pastor Donnie C. Brannen officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan McDavid, Timothy McDavid, James Wright, Justin Wright, Jay Wright, and Jake Wright.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Hudson, James Sipe, Josh Wright, Tony Queen, and Joel Calloway.
