Maxine Lady White

Maxine Lady White, 93, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 peacefully at home after a period of declining health.

She was born May 18, 1919 in Fall Branch, TN. Maxine attended Kingsport City Schools. She was a charter member of Mafair United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member in the United Methodist Women.

Maxine will be greatly missed by all. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her Husband of 72 years, Faustine I. White, Her parents, John and Pearl McCrary Lady, a baby brother, daughter, Sharon White Hurst, Grandson, David Hurst, Jr., Sister-in-laws, Mack Jones, Paul White, Cam King, several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila White Postell and her husband James M. Postell III, Kingsport, Grandson Jeff Postell and wife Cathy, Mt. Juliet, TN., Granddaughter, Michele Postell Neely and husband John, Kingsport, Granddaughter, Christine Hurst Evington and husband Greg, Thomasville, N.C., Great Grandchildren, Michaela, Marissa and Maura Postell, Mt. Juliet, TN., Erika Neely, Kingsport, and Mark Witt, Fayetteville, TN., Brooks, Caleb, and Kyndal Evington, Thomasville, N.C., Sister-in-laws, Maxine White King, and Virginia White, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Mafair United Methodist Church and anytime at the Postell home.

A celebration of life will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Rev. Ralph Kidd officiating.

Graveside services will be Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Postell, John Neely, David Hurst, Sr., Greg Evington, Brooks Evington, Caleb Evington.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Cam King, Jr., Tommy Glenn, Jim White, Winston Jones, Harvey Herron.

The family is especially grateful to special caregivers Lorraine Vermillion, Glenda Pickle, and Ann Davis for all their love, care and support these last six years. They would also like to thank Smoky Mountain Hospice for their support.
