Maye L. Pickering Bolton, 77, Kingsport, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Skilled Nursing Facility of Life Care Center of Gray following a lengthy illness.

Born in Wakenva, VA, she was a resident of Remington House Assisted Living Facility in Kingsport. Maye was the wife of the late Grover Charles Bolton who passed away June 26, 2007. They were married on June 2, 1953 and were married for 54 years.

Maye was a founder and owner of Sew-Vac Sales and Service, which was founded in 1974 in Greeneville and Kingsport with branches in Lee and Abingdon, VA. She retired in 2000.

She was a member of Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church for many years, and later Homeland Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband Grover Charles Bolton, Maye was preceded in death by her parents, Robert S. and Rose Holbrook Pickering; a sister, Tony Kistler; and brothers, Clarence Cooper, Frank Cooper, Bruce Cooper, and Arthur Cooper.

Survivors include her son, Robert Bob Bolton of Kingsport; daughters, P. Darlene Bryant and spouse, Charles of Memphis, Audrey Susie Bolton of Kingsport, Teresa L. Bass and spouse, Gary of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Angela Neas Gilmore and Brett N. Neas of Memphis, TN, Hannah and Alex Bass of Rock Hill, SC, Jamey Bolton of Kingsport, TN; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Bailey and Hayden Gilmore of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Joann Ward of Greeneville, TN and Rosie Ferguson of Detroit, MI; three brothers, Raymond J. Cooper of Detroit, MI, Robert Deed Pickering of Orange, VA, Reverend Walter Bud Pickering of Jonesborough, TN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kermit and Marie Bolton of Church Hill, TN, Paul and Genevieve Bolton of Chuckey, TN, Waylon and Nancy Bolton of Baileyton, TN and Bill and Judy Bolton of Greeneville, TN; a very special friend, Emory Childress of Kingsport, TN; several nieces and nephews; and the many friends she made during her life.

Special thanks to family friends, Kathy and Jim Sarbaugh of West Virginia, and Judy and Arley Partin of Fall Branch, TN.

Special thanks to the staffs of Remington House Assisted Living Facility, where she was a resident for most of the past three years and the Skilled Nursing Facility at Life Care Center in Gray, TN.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor J. W. Depew officiating. Eulogy will be given by her son, Robert Bob Bolton.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Charles Bryant, Brett Neas, Gary Bass, Alex Bass, Jamey Bolton, Arley Partin, and Dwight Morrison.
