Melissa Dawn Megna

Melissa Dawn Megna, 45, of Bristol, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Melissa was born to parents, Ricky and Marilyn Williams on August 12, 1978, in Middlesboro, KY. Melissa grew up and eventually would graduate from high school in Middlesboro. Melissa found joy in caring for her family and she cherished her children and grandchildren more than anything. Melissa was of the Baptist faith and listened to gospel music often. She enjoyed cooking meals for others and had a love for the beauty of flowers. Melissa will be deeply missed by family, friends, and loved ones.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Ray Shumaker; stepfather, Ricky Williams; brother, Frank Shumaker and ex-husband, Billy Parker.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of nearly 10 years, Thomas Megna; daughter, Alyssa Parker (Blake); sons, Ethan Parker, Braden Lee, and Caleb Lee; grandchildren, Kaisley Jones, and Pierson Parker; mother, Marilyn Williams; sister, Alicia Patrick; sister-in-law, Sharon Anderson; stepsons, Kristian Megna and Thomas Megna; niece, Felicity Kniffen; nephews, Jake Patrick, Chesten Anderson and Nick Anderson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Blountville. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Ryan Shaffer officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in honor of Melissa’s life. She was an avid supporter of St. Jude.
