Merrill L. Anderson, 91, of Kingsport passed away Monday afternoon, April 14, 2008, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was a native of Mason County, West Virginia, and had resided in the Tri-City area of Bristol, Elizabethton, and Kingsport since 1964. Mr. Anderson was owner/operator of the Fountain Bleu Restaurant on West Center Street until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Bristol, Virginia.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Gladys Francis Anderson; his parents, R. R. Anderson and Bertha Pearl Anderson; three brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Adams and her husband Sherman of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Angela Farmer and her husband John of Weber City, Gregory Adams of Mt. Carmel; and five great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by three sisters, Alma Knotts of Little Hocking, Ohio, Norma Schultz of Coolville, Ohio, and Christine Mattox of Hurricane, West Virginia.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, with services to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Craig Foster officiating.
Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, TN. Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
