Michael (Mike) L. Loring

Michael (Mike) L. Loring, 67, of Kingsport, died Saturday (May 18, 2019) at Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, TN.

Mike was born in Nashville, TN and moved to Kingsport in 1989. While in Nashville, he worked as a regional credit manager for Ingersoll Rand and a financial analyst for Dun & Bradstreet, where he was awarded a presidential citation for superior reporting analysis. After moving to Kingsport, Mike became credit manager for Alcan Aluminum Corporation’s U.S., Canada and Mexico Extrusions’ Divisions. As a member of the National Association of Credit Managers, he served on the NACM government affairs committee in 1993. In 1994, Mike started his own business as an outsource Commercial Credit Manager, which he continued until his retirement in 2014.

The family wishes to thank the Intensive Care Unit staff at Holston Valley Hospital for their wonderful care and support.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jennings Bryan Loring and Nancy Ginger Rowe Loring. Surviving are his wife, Suzanne Freehoff Loring; son, William Bryan Loring; and of Nashville, former wife, Cynthia Loring; and their two children, Michael L. Loring, Jr. and wife Donna, and Traci Loring Kidney and husband Geoff; brother, Jennings Bryan Loring, Jr; and niece Amy Loring Welch.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 29 at 1:00 pm at St. Peter the Apostle Anglican Church, 3321 Thornton Drive, Kingsport, TN. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm; Holy Communion with The Rev. Robert Placer officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
