Michael Wayne Stout

Mike Stout, 48, Kingsport, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday January 26, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

He attended Long Island Elementary School and Sullivan West High School. Mike was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Simon and Pearl Boyd; paternal grandparents, Marshall and Myrtle Stout; a younger brother whom he loved very much, John Stout February 4, 2005; and several aunts and uncles.

Surviving are his wife, Virita Stout, Kingsport; step-daughter, Chasity Martin, Kingsport; step-sons, John Rochester and Jason Rochester; parents, Tom and Barbara Stout, Kingsport; brothers, Tim Stout and wife, Loretta, Kingsport, Jeff Stout and wife, Karen, Knoxville; aunts, Ozeta "Skeet" Littleton and Vivian Smith; nieces, Melissa Ramey, Shaina Harvey, Jordan Stout, Lisa Stout; several cousins; and lots of good friends, Tim Riner and wife, Melinda, teacher and coach, David Wade and Earl Hulse.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, or any time at the parent's home, 1252 Bloomingdale Pike, Apt. 105. Services will be at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Rev. Kelly Dykes and Rev. Orville Rogers officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Baumrucker, Dr. Moraes, the Wellmont Hospice, and the oncology nurses for their special care of Mike.
