Michael "Weasel" Hicks

Michael "Weasel" Hicks, Captain, 66, of Kingsport, passed away at 11:44 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness. Mike was born in Kingsport where he lived for most of his life. A graduate of Sullivan West, class of 1970, Mike worked for Anderson Ford prior to going into the Army, and then retiring after 20 years of military service as Captain. He served as President of the Military Bass Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Betty Hicks.

Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jackie Hicks; daughter, Nachella Crawford and husband Kevin; son, Nakia Hicks and wife Rachel; three grandchildren, Callie Crawford, Macee Starnes, Haylee Hicks; one great grandson, Mason Deakins; sister, Martie Hale and husband, Gary; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; two nieces and two nephews; and special furry friend, Jake.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and anytime at the home.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Fred Robinett officiating. Military Rites will be given by The American Legion Posts #3/265.

Pallbearers will be Nakia Hicks, Kevin Crawford, Bobby Wilson, Erick Kaywood, Jeremy Webb, John Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers in arms, Robert Knight, Doug Harris, Jim Smedly, and Harold Morrison.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 1550 Fort Henry Dr, Kingsport, TN 37664.
