Mick Lukach, Jr., passed away November 3, 2010, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a lingering illness. He was born in McDowell County, WV, on Nov. 4, 1933. He served in the Korean War from Nov. 10, 1953 till Nov. 10, 1955. He retired from the First Baptist Church of Kingsport in 1991.
Preceding him in death was his father, Mick Lukach; WV, his mother, Betty Branson and stepfather, Lloyd Branson, and sister, Helen Elliott, of Blountville.
Survivors include his wife Peggy, of the home; sons, Danny Lukach and wife, Kandy, of Abingdon, VA, and Steve Barr and wife, Shannon, of Knoxville; two daughters, Teresa Hartgrove and husband, Wayne, Mt. Carmel, TN, and Debbie Jeffers and husband, Larry, Kingsport; three grandchildren: Patrick Barr and wife, Alicia, of Sevierville, TN,
Scotty Jeffers and Lesha Gray, April Anderson and Paul, Bristol; great-grandchildren, Summer Jeffers and Alex Anderson; sisters, Sandra Sproles and Sylvia McConnell; one brother, Jack Lukach; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal visitation or funeral services. A graveside service for family and friends will be conducted on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the VA Mountain Home Cemetery, with Robert Cole officiating.
