Mike Thomas

Mike "Tin Indian" Thomas, 59, of Kingsport, beloved son, father, brother, papaw and friend, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018. He was born in Sullivan County and attended Sullivan West High School. He worked at Thompson Metal for several years as a heavy equipment operator. Mike loved life and enjoyed a host of things like racing, fishing, kayaking, working on cars, and especially playing with his grandkids. His presence will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Thomas.

Mike is survived by 2 daughters, Amy Spears and husband, Kenny, and Holly Grubb and husband, Jacob; the mother of his children, JoAnn Thomas 4 grandchildren, Marley and Paisley Spears, Nolan and Wyatt Grubb; mother, Mary Ann King; sisters, Lisa Parkes and husband, Brian, and Linda Thomas; and brother, David Gyles and, Marjorie; and nieces and nephews, B.J., Michael, Abby and Katrina.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, 2018, from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Mark Street officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Friday at 12:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray final expenses.
