Miklos "Mike" Bus, 78, of Kingsport, died on September 29, 2013 of cancer.
He was born in Hungary on November 20, 1934. He had completed three years of Mechanical Engineering studies in Hungary when the Soviets brutally crushed the Hungarian anti-communist uprising. He decided to escape the oppressing new Communist regime and successfully escaped into Yugoslavia and spent seven months in refugee camps. Mike then went to France to study on a scholarship from the International University Students' organization.

In France, he met his future wife, Germaine Corman, at the Reformed Church of Nantes. They married in 1959 and moved to Miami to join his two brothers who had also escaped from Hungary. Mike finished his degree at the University of Miami in 1961 and came to Kingsport after accepting a position at Tennessee Eastman Company. With International Marketing, he spent eight years in Switzerland and completed his career with Eastman in Kingsport. He retired in 2000. Mike was a member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church for 52 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Germaine; son, Stephen; three daughters, Viviane and husband Nathan Cobb, Christine Bush, and Valerie and husband Bill Urban; four grandchildren, Joshua Cobb and his wife Jessica, Cameron Cobb, Austin Cobb and Allie Urban; brother, Zoltan and wife Victoria; and nephew, Andrew and wife Tammy. Through his deceased brother, Lewis, he has niece, Kimberly and husband Edward Alonso; nephews, Michael and wife Ruth, and Matthew and wife Adrienne; great-nephew, Thomas; and great nieces Christina, Melissa, and Katie.
Mike will be missed by his family and friends, but will be lovingly remembered by those whose lives he touched.
